Welcome to Bristolmedicalpro.com
Bristolmedicalpro manikins are designed and hand built entirely by Andy Levy, Professor of Endocrinology and Hon Consultant Physician at Bristol University and United Bristol Healthcare Trust, Bristol, UK. He is involved in basic molecular science research as well as teaching, with responsibility for designing and running the final qualifying exams for Bristol medical undergraduates.
The training manikins described here are realistic enough to be used in high-stakes summative exams to assess the clinical skills that undergraduates must have acquired before registration with the General Medical Council. To increase the content and consequential validity of clinical exams, manikins for cannulation and venesection, breast examination, rectal examination, ophthalmoscopy, suturing, insertion of bone anchors into the jaws, lumbar puncture and male catheterization as well as a variety of veterinary skills, such as cannulation of domestic pet forelimbs and equine and bovine jugular vein cannulation have been developed.
Manikin production and supply is currently limited to:- direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy training and venesection/cannulation.
All of the money from sales of manikins is used for basic science research at Bristol University.
Manikins are not available for purchase in the continental USA, but information about manufacturing methods may be available on request.
